Description
- Anatomically correct representation of a 6-lb., 18” female baby developed to teach vascular accessing, securing, dressing, site care, and maintenance for standard IVs and PICC with newborns
- Barely discernible blue veins on the head, right and left arms and the right leg; veins made of Dermalike for 50% less drag and tear resistance to allow greater number of needle sticks
- A “pop” is felt when needle enters vein followed by flashback of simulated blood confirming proper needle placement; veins include temporal, external jugular, post-auricular, basilic, cephalic, saphenous and popliteal
- Redesigned umbilicus and umbilical valve allow repeated catheterization with 5FR umbilical catheter; nasal and oral openings allow placement of nasal cannulas and nasogastric and feeding tubes
- Replaceable translucent “skins” on the head, arms and right leg are easy to change and ensure long-lasting use
